六本木ヒルズの回転ドアによる事故については
毎日のようにマスコミで報道されていて
blogでも沢山取り上げているところがあるし、
特に変わった意見を持っているわけでもないので
書くまでもないかなと思っていたのですが
ひとつひっかかったところがあったのでメモっておくことにする。
回転ドアを設置する「事業者側」にとってのメリットとして
・空調効率がいい
・高層ビル内の気圧変化が少なくてすむ
というのがあげられています。
これは外気と内気の入れ替わりが通常のドアよりも少なくてすむ
という同じ現象から来ているメリットなのでしょう。それはわかる。
でももうひとつあげられていたものとして
・バリアフリー
というのがあって仰天した。
テレビ見ながらほんとにひっくり返った。三枝みたいに。
その瞬間はどういう意味でバリアフリーって言ってるのか
わからなかったのですがよくよく聞いてみると
「段差がない」というそのただ一点のみで
バリアフリーと言っているらしい。
健常者の大人でも回転ドアに入るにはタイミングをはかったり
ちょっと緊張したりすることがあるというのに
「段差がない」ことだけでバリアフリーをうたうというのは
どういう神経なんだろうかと、本気で思った。
メーカーがそう主張していた、という話ではなかったので
テレビ局（ワイドショー）側の皮肉か？と一瞬思ったほど。
回転ドアの方が車椅子で通りやすいとはとてもじゃないけど思えない。
歩く速度をうまく調節できない人は回転ドアを使えないと思う。
この場合だと、近くに普通のドアがあること
がバリアフリーじゃないだろうか。
「バリアフリー」=「段差がない」
というだけのことに矮小化されてしまっている。
本当の意味での「バリア」「フリー」という事柄の意味であったり
配慮する対象の人が実際どう使うかという場面の検証であったり
そういうことが抜け落ちているんじゃないだろうか。
調べてみると六本木ヒルズの内部にはいろいろとバリアフリーをうたって
工夫を凝らしてある施設や場所がたくさんあるようだけど
入り口の時点でこれでは、他の施設を担当した業者はどう思っているんだろう。
翻ってwebで考えてみても、このバリアフリーの例のように
矮小化されてとらえられている出来事って沢山あると思う。
スペーサーにつかう1x1pxの透明gifにもわざわざalt属性をつけるとか。
音声ブラウザだとかイメージを表示しないブラウザに対応する
という意味で「画像にはalt属性をつけましょう」というのが本筋なのに
それでは音声ブラウザにとってもイメージを表示しないブラウザにとっても
意味のないデータになってしまう。邪魔なだけだ。
ページのサイズやフォントサイズの固定・指定についても
同じような矮小化された約束事だけを守ればいいというものではなくて
場面場面で要求される物事をちゃんと考えないとダメなんだと思う。
